New Year's Eve in a Log Cabin in Slovakia: Fireplace and Sauna

A quiet New Year’s Eve by the fire

Bosorka Zrub is for families and friends who want to spend New Year’s Eve by the fire, in the sauna and over good food. You rent the whole 130 m² wooden house: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a bath and a sofa bed. It sleeps 8 comfortably, 10 at most. It stands in Liptovský Trnovec on the shore of Liptovská Mara lake, in enclosed grounds with other wooden houses.

The last evening of the year with us:

• There is a fireplace in the living room and the firewood is included. The kitchen also has a tiled stove.
• The infrared sauna is right in the house, just the thing after a day on the slopes.
• For the New Year’s Eve dinner you have an oven, dishwasher, microwave and bean-to-cup coffee machine. The dining table seats 8.
• For children there is a play corner, and a cot and high chair free of charge. Satellite TV for cartoons and Wi-Fi of up to 1000 Mb/s for films and games.
• Two cars park right by the house inside the enclosed grounds.

The cabin is made for a New Year’s Eve where the whole family or group of friends gathers round one table and heads for the slopes or the water the next morning. It stands in grounds shared with neighbours, so we let it for relaxed celebrations rather than parties or stag and hen dos.

Things to do in the last days of the year

This is what you can fit in from the cabin between Christmas and New Year:

• Skiing at Jasná, 21 km, about 25 minutes by car. If the season is under way, the Pavčina Lehota park-and-ride is about 25 minutes from the cabin. The Ski & Aqua bus stops 500 m from the cabin and is free with a ski pass or the Liptov Region Card. It runs from the Christmas holidays until March, and the journey to Jasná takes over 40 minutes. • A water park by day. Tatralandia is 2.5 km from the cabin, 5 minutes by car, and is open all year (prices and tips). Bešeňová, with its thermal water, is 16 km away (prices and opening hours). Check the holiday opening hours on the water parks’ websites the day before.
• A walk by the lake. The cabin stands right on the shore of Liptovská Mara. The last morning of the year is perfect for a walk while dinner is being prepared at home.

According to its rules, the Slovak Caves Administration keeps its caves closed from 24 December to 1 January. If you want to visit Demänovská Cave of Liberty, check the entry calendar on ssj.sk before you go.

Where to see in the New Year

The closest option is the fireside in the cabin. If you want to go out, there are several options nearby. Whichever you choose, agree in advance who is driving.

• Tatralandia, 2.5 km. For New Year’s Eve 2026 it is planning an evening in its pools from 18:00 to 3:00. The ticket includes the Aqua Ticket (pools, slides, parking, locker), a toast and an evening programme. The first 200 adult tickets cost €39 online, the next ones €49 until 30 December, and €59 at the ticket office on 31 December. Children aged 6 to 12 pay €29, €39 at the ticket office, and children under 6 go free with a paying adult. The Celtic sauna world, massages and slides are open until 22:00 that evening.
• Bešeňová, 16 km. At the same time and the same prices as Tatralandia it runs a New Year’s Eve evening in its thermal pools with tribute bands and a light show.
• Liptovský Mikuláš, 7 km. On New Year’s Eve 2025 there was a programme in the town centre from 22:30 with a DJ and saxophone, and just before midnight a sand art show telling the story of the town. The town will announce the programme for New Year’s Eve 2026.

New Year’s Day in Liptov

The first day of the year tends to be slow, and that’s fine. We recommend doing your shopping for 1 January in advance, so you don’t have to go anywhere in the morning.

• Tatralandia and Bešeňová are open all year. We could not find their exact hours for 1 January, so check them on their websites the day before.
• If the season at Jasná is under way, you can go skiing on New Year’s Day too. It is 21 km from the cabin, about 25 minutes by car.
• A New Year’s Day walk along the shore of Liptovská Mara starts at the cabin door.

Price and dates

For New Year’s Eve we let the whole cabin, and the price is for the house, not per person. The New Year dates are 29 December 2026 - 3 January 2027, that is 5 nights. Booked direct, the stay costs from €2,570 for the whole cabin for 8 guests, and the 9th and 10th guest each add 12.5% to the nightly price. The same stay on Booking.com costs about 10% more.

Firewood, bed linen and towels are included, and the cot and high chair are free of charge.

How to book

1. Send a no-obligation enquiry with your dates, the number of adults and children, and whether you are bringing a pet.
2. We usually reply within a few hours: we confirm whether the dates are free and send you the exact price.
3. We send the payment and cancellation terms together with the offer, and we can issue an invoice on request.

Check-in is from 16:00 and is self check-in, we send the key box code in advance. Check-out is by 10:00.
