Why Christmas at the cabin

At Christmas the whole family wants to sit round one table, not split up into hotel rooms on different corridors. We let Bosorka Zrub as a whole: a 130 m² wooden house with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a bath and a sofa bed. It sleeps 8 comfortably, 10 at most. It suits one big family or two families who are friends, with children.

The cabin stands in Liptovský Trnovec on the shore of Liptovská Mara lake, in enclosed grounds with other wooden houses. In the evening you light the fire, the firewood is included. After a walk, whoever wants to goes into the infrared sauna while the children play in the play corner. You cook Christmas dinner to your own recipes, not to a hotel menu.

What a Christmas stay looks like

You can arrive from 16:00. Check-in is self check-in, we send the key box code in advance, so you don’t need to agree an exact time with anyone. There is parking for 2 cars at the house. Check-out is by 10:00.

There is a fireplace in the living room and the firewood is included, and the kitchen also has a tiled stove. The infrared sauna is right in the cabin, so after a day on the slopes or by the lake you warm up without going anywhere.

For Christmas dinner you have an oven, dishwasher, microwave and bean-to-cup coffee machine. The dining table seats 8, so if there are 10 of you, plan dinner with that in mind. We recommend doing your shopping on the way, so you don’t have to go anywhere on Christmas Eve.

For children there is a play corner, and a cot and high chair free of charge. Satellite TV and Wi-Fi of up to 1000 Mb/s help on a lazy Christmas Eve afternoon.

The cabin is made for peaceful holidays with family. It stands in grounds shared with neighbours, so quiet hours apply from 22:00 to 7:00. Pets are welcome by arrangement and we can issue an invoice on request.

Things to do in Liptov over Christmas

This is what you can fit in from the cabin over the holidays:

• Tatralandia, 2.5 km, 5 minutes by car. The water park with its indoor Tropical Paradise is open all year. In autumn 2026 it opens Sunday to Thursday 10:00 - 20:00, Friday and Saturday until 21:00. We could not find the hours for Christmas Eve and the holidays, so check the water park’s website before you go. Prices and tips are in our Tatralandia guide.
• Bešeňová, 16 km. The thermal pools are open in winter too. Check the holiday hours on the water park’s website, prices and tips are in our Bešeňová guide.
• Skiing at Jasná, 21 km, about 25 minutes by car. The resort had not yet announced the 2026/27 opening date when we checked, OnTheSnow estimates 27 November 2026. The Ski & Aqua bus stops 500 m from the cabin and is free with a ski pass or the Liptov Region Card. It runs from the Christmas holidays until March, and the journey to Jasná takes over 40 minutes. • Christmas fairs. Liptovský Mikuláš, 7 km from the cabin, holds its St Nicholas Fair in early December (5 - 6 December in 2025). Between Christmas and New Year 2025 there was a Christmas market in Liptovský Ján (27 December) and Winter Days on the Farm in Východná (27 - 28 December). Visit Liptov will publish the 2026 dates.
• A walk by the lake. The cabin stands right on the shore of Liptovská Mara. On the morning of Christmas Eve, while dinner is cooking, it is the easiest outing for the whole family.

According to its rules, the Slovak Caves Administration keeps its caves closed from 24 December to 1 January.

Price and dates

We charge for the whole cabin, not per person. The Christmas dates are 22 December - 29 December 2026 and the shortest stay is 5 nights. Booked direct, a 5-night stay costs from €1,438 for the whole cabin for 8 guests, and the 9th and 10th guest each add 12.5% to the nightly price. The discount grows with longer stays: 20% for 6 nights, 25% for 7 nights. The same stay on Booking.com costs about 10% more.

Firewood, bed linen and towels are included, and the cot and high chair are free of charge. We send the exact price for your dates in our reply.
