Quick answer: which water park suits whom
Both water parks are in the Liptov region, both are open all year round, and in autumn 2026 they even have the same opening hours. The main difference is why people go there.
- Families with school-age children or teenagers: Tatralandia. More water slides (30 in summer) and the covered Tropical Paradise (Tropický raj).
- Families with children under 6: Tatralandia, on balance. Young children get in free at both, but Tatralandia is 5 minutes from the cabin, so you are back in time for a lunchtime nap after your swim.
- Couples and seniors: Bešeňová. Thermal water, a more relaxed swim, a senior ticket for €20 online and evening swimming for €12.
- Groups of adults after a day’s skiing: both. Pop into Tatralandia for a couple of hours in the evening, or use the evening ticket at Bešeňová.
- Sauna lovers: both have a separate swimwear-free sauna zone: Celtic Sauna World at Tatralandia, Harmónia at Bešeňová.
If you are in Liptov for a week, you can fit in both: Tatralandia for the slides and Bešeňová for the thermal water.
How much you will pay
Both water parks use dynamic pricing and sell their tickets through gopass.travel, an online ticket shop. Buying online is cheapest, the self-service machine costs more and the ticket desk costs the most. The easiest way to compare them is the summer 2025 price list, which was identical at both water parks for the full-day Aqua Ticket (all prices are in euros):
| Aqua Ticket, summer 2025 | Adults | Juniors, students, seniors | Children 6-11 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online 2 or more days ahead | €39 | €33 | €29 |
| Online the day before or on the day | €41 | €35 | €31 |
| Ticket desk | €43 | €37 | €33 |
Children under 6 get in free at both water parks. Tatralandia’s 2026 price list gives the same amounts: €39 for adults, €33 for juniors and seniors and €29 for children aged 6 to 11.
The difference lies in the cheaper tickets. Bešeňová has evening swimming for €12 online and €15 at the ticket desk, and seniors aged 60 and over pay €20 for a full day there if they buy online at least 3 days ahead. Tatralandia, on the other hand, includes parking in the Aqua Ticket.
You will find the detailed price lists in our guides to Tatralandia and Bešeňová.
Water slides and pools
Tatralandia is the clear winner here. All year round it has 10 pools and 6 water slides, and in summer 30 slides and chutes in total. The wildest ones are in the Raftaria zone, such as Crazy River, Roller Coaster and Free Fall.
Bešeňová has 9 pools and 7 water slides all year round, and in summer 20 pools and 15 slides and chutes in total. There are slides here, but the main reason to come is the water, not the adrenaline.
For the youngest, both have covered children’s areas: Tatralandia has the Caribbean Kid’s Island hall with a children’s pool and a children’s traffic playground, and Bešeňová has the covered Atrium zone (Átrium) with a children’s pool.
Thermal water and saunas
Both water parks have thermal water. At Tatralandia it is in some of the 10 year-round pools with salt, thermal and fresh water. Bešeňová, however, is built around it. The geothermal spring rises from a depth of 1,987 metres at a temperature of 60.5 °C, and the water contains plenty of sulphates, calcium, magnesium and even lithium. If what you mainly want is to lie back in warm water, you will be happier at Bešeňová.
In return, Tatralandia has Tropical Paradise. It is a covered hall kept at 30 °C all year, with palm trees and saltwater pools whose water is saltier than the Black Sea.
Saunas:
- Tatralandia, Celtic Sauna World: 21 saunas, baths and treatments; a €14 supplement for 90 minutes, then €0.15 per minute. No children under 6; children aged 6 to 12 from 14:00, for a maximum of 3 hours and with an adult.
- Bešeňová, Harmónia Wellness & Spa: dry and steam saunas. According to Harmónia’s page, the supplement on top of the Aqua Ticket is €16 for adults and €10 for children under 12. Children aged 6 and over only with an adult and for a limited time. Bešeňová also has the outdoor saunas Salatín, Ďumbier, Choč and Poludnica.
In winter and when it rains
Both water parks are open all year. Outside the summer, however, only the year-round part is open, and the seasonal pools and slides are closed. In autumn 2026 both have the same hours: Sunday - Thursday 10:00 - 20:00, Friday and Saturday 10:00 - 21:00.
In winter and in the rain, Tatralandia is a little more comfortable thanks to the covered Tropical Paradise. Bešeňová, for its part, offers warm thermal water, which is especially pleasant in the colder months. At Bešeňová in autumn, bear in mind that from 14 September 2026 the Fun Tent (Zábavný stan), the slide tower and the outdoor saunas only open at 13:00 from Monday to Thursday.
In the ski season, expect bigger crowds at both on days when skiing conditions on the slopes are poor.
How far is it from the cabin?
- Tatralandia: 2.5 km, about 5 minutes by car. It is the nearest water park, so you can go for just a few hours.
- Bešeňová: 16 km, about 20 minutes by car. Better for half a day or an evening.
With small children, being so close to Tatralandia is a big advantage: into the water in the morning, back at the cabin for lunch.
