Liptov Region Card: Price, Discounts and How to Get It in 2026

What the Liptov Region Card is

The Liptov Region Card is a regional card of experiences and discounts. It is run by the regional tourism organisation Región Liptov, which operates the visitliptov.sk website. You show the card at a partner’s ticket desk and pay less for admission, a ticket or a service. You can recognise the places that give a discount by a sticker that says “ENJOY DISCOUNT HERE”.

The discount offer changes twice a year. The summer offer runs from May to the end of October, the winter offer from November to the end of April. The card itself never expires, so keep it and use it on your next visit to Liptov too.

How much it costs and who gets it for free

• Free: if you stay at least one night with a partner host in Liptov.
• €5: for everyone else. You can buy it at tourist information centres, other sales points or online.

The card is personal and cannot be lent to anyone else. It is also issued to children over 6, so in a family everyone who wants to use a discount needs their own card.

When you book your accommodation, ask straight away whether the host is a partner of the card. If not, the €5 for the card will pay for itself on a week-long stay with trips, as long as you use it for at least two or three admissions or boat trips.

How to get it: plastic or on your phone

The card comes in two forms:

1. Plastic: your partner host gives it to you, or you buy it at a tourist information centre.
2. Digital on your phone: your host sends you a QR code or a link. You fill in a short form and the card arrives straight away by email.

The digital version is more practical. It will not get lost in the pockets of your ski jacket, and you show it on your phone at the ticket desk. If the card is topped up with a stay package from your host, then according to Visit Liptov it has, since 15 June 2022, also included Mountain Rescue Service (Horská záchranná služba) insurance in the Basic variant, for hiking and cycling on marked trails in Slovakia.

What discounts it gives in summer 2026

The summer 2026 offer runs from 1 May to 31 October 2026 and includes 69 discounts. Most are from 5 to 50%, some up to 100%, for example the cycle bus.

Checked examples from the summer 2026 offer:

• Boat trips on Liptovská Mara: 10% off.
• Liptov Museum exhibitions: 20% off.
• Cycle bus: 100% off, so free.
• Mountain Rescue Service insurance with a topped-up stay package.

Visit Liptov has calculated that on a stay of two days or more you save up to €57 with the card. The calculation includes admission to a water park (€2.25 off), a boat trip (€2.50), e-bike hire, a cable car, rafting, a traditional dinner and a flight in a wind tunnel. Winter discounts and the Ski & Aqua bus

The winter 2025/26 offer ran from 1 November 2025 to 30 April 2026 and had 53 discounts in eight categories: from transport, attractions and ski resorts to wellness, culture and food. For example:

• Ski passes: 10 to 20% off at Malinô Brdo and Ski Centre Demänová.
• Water parks and wellness: reduced admission to Tatralandia, Bešeňová, Gothal in Liptovská Osada and the Lúčky spa (Kúpele Lúčky).
• Ski & Aqua bus: free for everyone with a Liptov Region Card or a valid ski pass.

In winter 2026/27, according to Visit Liptov, the Ski & Aqua bus runs in the main season from 19 December 2026 to 7 March 2027, and then for spring and Easter skiing until 29 March 2027. Last winter it linked Jasná with Liptovský Mikuláš, Tatralandia, Liptovský Trnovec, Liptovský Ján and Bešeňová, and the Malinô Brdo resort with Ružomberok. As of 21 October 2026, Visit Liptov had not yet published the detailed timetable or the winter discount offer for 2026/27. It published the winter 2025/26 brochure in October 2025, so expect the new one on visitliptov.sk before the season starts.

For us, the ski bus is the card’s biggest advantage. The stop in Liptovský Trnovec is a 10-minute walk from the cabin, and you can get to Jasná or Tatralandia without a car. We cover the ski bus to Jasná in detail in our guide to skiing at Jasná.

Is it worth it?

If your host gives it to you for free, definitely. You just show it at the ticket desk, and in winter you get free transport around the region.

If you are buying it for €5, do the maths:

• The discount on a water park and one boat trip alone (according to Visit Liptov, €2.25 and €2.50) almost pays for the card.
• Add a museum, rafting or, in winter, a ski pass at Malinô Brdo, and you are in the plus.
• For a day trip to a single place, it may not pay off.

What to combine it with

You will get the most out of the card on a stay where you alternate water, mountains and trips. In summer that means swimming in Liptovská Mara and Tatralandia, in winter Jasná, Malinô Brdo and the ski bus. You will find more tips on our summer at Liptovská Mara and winter at the cabin pages.
