What a good day at Tatralandia looks like

Tatralandia is not a two-hour stop. All year round it has 10 pools and 6 water slides, and in summer 30 slides and chutes in total, plus the indoor Tropical Paradise (Tropický raj) at 30 °C and a sauna world. If you have come a long way, give the water the whole day.

A day that works for most families and groups of friends:

  • arrive at opening time, 10:00 in autumn 2026 and 9:00 in summer,
  • slides and outdoor pools in the morning, before it gets busy,
  • lunch on site, at the self-service Paradiso restaurant in Tropical Paradise,
  • Tropical Paradise, the children’s hall or the saunas in the afternoon,
  • dinner in Liptovský Mikuláš or by Liptovská Mara in the evening.

Parking is included in the Aqua Ticket, so you can drive right up to the entrance and pay nothing extra.

Buy your ticket before you leave home

Tatralandia uses dynamic pricing. Buying online at gopass.travel is cheapest, and the ticket desk is the most expensive. For 2026, the price list on the water park’s website gives the full-day Aqua Ticket at €39 for adults, €33 for juniors and seniors and €29 for children aged 6 to 11. Children under 6 get in free.

For two adults and two children aged 6 to 11, that comes to €136 a day. If you buy at the ticket desk, you pay more: in summer 2025 the difference for a family like that was €16. The full price list, opening hours and sauna rules are in our guide to Tatralandia prices.

Before the water park

It depends on the season.

In summer, keep it simple and get into the water first thing. The water park opens at 9:00, and the slides are quietest in the morning. In early summer 2026 the slides in the Raftaria zone only started at 12:00, so check the current times before you go.

In winter it is worth combining skis and water. Ski at Jasná in the morning and warm up in Tropical Paradise in the afternoon. Jasná is about 20 km from Tatralandia, under half an hour by car. In autumn 2026 the water park is open until 20:00, and until 21:00 on Friday and Saturday, so after skiing you still have 3 to 4 hours. Check the winter opening hours before you go.

In spring and autumn, when there is no skiing and nobody fancies the lake, start in town. Liptovský Mikuláš is 4 km from the water park, and the Janko Kráľ Museum with Jánošík’s underground torture chamber is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00. The morning is enough for two hours at the museum and lunch in town, and you go into the water after lunch.

After the water park

In summer, head to the lake. The Liptovský Trnovec beach is 2.6 km from Tatralandia, and the north shore of Liptovská Mara is a good place to watch the sunset. After a day in the pools it makes a nice change. There is more about the beaches in our guide to swimming at Liptovská Mara.

For dinner, the nearest place is the centre of Liptovský Mikuláš. Our host Kamil likes going to Route 66 on Garbiarska Street. It is an American-style restaurant with a daily menu, open every day until 23:00, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. In the same building is Game Room 66, with more than 50 games. Children load up a game card, play, collect points and swap them for a prize at the end.

If you are driving home the same evening, plan dinner so that the driver is not too tired. After a whole day in the water and the warmth, a drive in the dark drags on.

With small children

Children under 6 get in free. For the youngest, the Caribbean Kid’s Island hall is open all year, with a children’s pool, a play area and a children’s traffic playground. Older children love the slides and the snorkelling behind the pirate ship in Tropical Paradise.

A whole day in the water is a lot for a small child, though. Toddlers usually last the morning and then need a nap. If you are staying nearby, go into the water in the morning, come back for the nap and take a walk by the lake in the evening. On a day trip from further away that is not possible, so with small children it is worth staying the night.

Next time, make it a weekend

A day trip to Tatralandia means about 3 hours in the car each way from Bratislava or Kraków, about 3.5 hours from Vienna, 2 hours from Košice and almost 4 hours from Budapest. Add an early start and a drive home in the dark. Since October 2026 the drive from the west has been a little shorter, because the D1 now bypasses Ružomberok, but between Turany and Hubová you still drive on road I/18 (Ružomberok bypass).

Over a weekend it looks quite different. You arrive on Friday evening, in the morning you are at the water park in 5 minutes, and in the evening there is no rush to get anywhere. On the second day you add what you would not fit into a day trip:

  • in summer, the cable car up Chopok or a day by the water with a paddleboard,
  • in winter, skiing at Jasná,
  • any day except Monday, the Demänovská Cave of Liberty.

We have written up how to combine these places in our guides Demänovská valley in a day and Liptovská Mara in a day.

Our log cabin stands in Liptovský Trnovec, 2.5 km from Tatralandia and 50 metres from Liptovská Mara. It sleeps 8 to 10, so it suits two families or a group of friends. After the water park there is a fireplace, an infrared sauna and a garden with a barbecue. You will find available dates and prices on our contact and booking page.

What to combine it with

If you still cannot decide which water park to choose, have a look at our comparison Tatralandia or Bešeňová. How to combine a thermal swim with a trip is covered in our Bešeňová day trip guide. For families we have Liptov with kids, and for a longer stay our Liptov itinerary. We are a local host and nobody pays us for our recommendations.

Frequently asked questions

How do you spend a full day at Tatralandia?

Arrive at opening time, do the slides and outdoor pools in the morning before it gets busy, have lunch at the self-service Paradiso restaurant in Tropical Paradise, and in the afternoon move on to the quieter pools, the children's hall or Celtic Sauna World, which costs a €14 supplement for 90 minutes. For a full day, plan on 5 to 7 hours in the water.

What is there to do near Tatralandia?

Liptovská Mara is right next door, with the Liptovský Trnovec beach and a cycle route around the water. The centre of Liptovský Mikuláš, with the Janko Kráľ Museum and Jánošík's torture chamber, is 4 km from the water park. Within half an hour by car you have the Demänovská Cave of Liberty, Jasná with the cable car up Chopok and the Havránok Archaeological Open-Air Museum.

Where can you eat after Tatralandia?

Inside the water park there is the self-service Paradiso restaurant. For dinner, the nearest option is the centre of Liptovský Mikuláš, 4 km away. Our host Kamil likes going to Route 66, an American restaurant on Garbiarska Street. It is open every day until 23:00, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and the Game Room 66 arcade is in the same building.

Can you combine skiing at Jasná and Tatralandia in one day?

Yes. Ski in the morning and go to the water park in the afternoon. Jasná is about 20 km from Tatralandia, under half an hour by car. In autumn 2026 Tatralandia is open until 20:00, and until 21:00 on Friday and Saturday; check the winter opening hours on tatralandia.sk before you set off.

Is Tatralandia worth a day trip from Bratislava or Kraków?

It can be done, but from Bratislava or Kraków it is about 3 hours by car each way, so you spend around 6 hours in the car in total. It is more comfortable to stay the night by Liptovská Mara and add Chopok, the Demänovská Cave of Liberty or a bike ride around the lake the next day.

How far is Tatralandia from Bosorka Zrub?

From Bosorka Zrub in Liptovský Trnovec it is 2.5 km to Tatralandia, about 5 minutes by car.
